Blend Door Actuator question
Great site as this has helped my diagnose my heating problem.
I have heat blaring out my vents all the time and now that it is 95 degrees out I need to do something about it. I have removed the blend door actuator and opened it up and sure enough one of the gears is cracked in half. I bought a new one and tried to install it bu the peg would not line up with the hole in the new actuator.
Ok the question. Should I be able to turn the peg in the vehicle by hand to be able to line the flat parts up or do I need to open up the new actuator to make it match? I am unable to move the peg by hand and dont want to break the new one if it is jammed somehow. Any help is appreciated.

You should be able to move it by hand in one direction or the other. Don't force it too much, but if you can't move it, you have other problems that need to be fixed before you install the new actuator.
