Default Blinker Clicking Noise...HELP PLEASE

Another question...it has to do with electrical so I'll post here. 99 4.3 Chevy Blazer. LT I think. You know the sound you hear when you turn the blinker on, the clicking sound coming from the passenger side of the car. Well, it doesn't go away anymore unless I hit the brake. Someone told me I would have to take apart the plastic covers and everything right behind the steering wheel and get into all that stuff...any suggestions? Can I just find whatever is making the clicking noise and cut it out or would that make the blinkers not work at all?

The 'electronics' in the section title actually refers to things like radio, DVD, GPS, speaker systems, etc.

Ok seeing as how theres 100 other things I already have to buy for this fix...can I just cut the thing out that makes the clicking noise? I could learn to live without the clicking lol. They only made blinkers click for people who don't ever look down at the dash anyways....lol
Since you already have this thread, I copied your reply to a much older thread here so I could reply to that and to your questions here.

To answer the question in the quote above, no, you cannot just cut out the part that is clicking as that is the flasher itself. By cutting it out, you would loose your turn signals and hazards.

This is most likely caused by a failing multifunction switch. What happens if you turn on and off the hazards repeatedly? Does the clicking go away when the hazards are not on?

I had the exact same symptoms as you... it only went away when I touched the brake and like swart says it was the multifunction switch. It's expensive and tricky to switch but not impossible...there are some good threads with detail(including mine) you can search on. I got my switch used and it's worked out great... saved a couple 100 bucks...of course it could go on me at any time LOL
