Default Blinker Issue 1997 Blazer

I just thought I would post about my experience incase anyone else had the same issues with a 97. Obviously my turn signals didnt work, checked all fuses in the fuse block and "every fuse mentioned in my owners manual" and they were all fine.

I then sought out advise from this site, everything said replace your hazard switch. So I got the GM part and it didnt work. I then bought the multi function switch from rock auto which also didnt fix the problem. (I have the factory GM one for sale PM me for interest)

So needless to say we traced everything down and found two chrome/silver round fuses under the bottom plastic panels located under the dash. replaced one of the two and BAM blinkers worked.

So at the end of the movie, check all of your fuses for your blinker issues before you purchase anything.

Perfectly good rant about 95-97 systems design went to waste because someone doesnt know difference between a fuse and a flasher

Next time something comes up please post a question. Due-diligence is great but sometimes you can get led in the wrong direction by just reading other peoples posts. The two things you changed are "turn signal flashers" or "turn signal flasher relays". One handles the left-right and one handles hazerds. There is almost no car you own long-enough that one of these will not crap out. Just to confues the issue there is a dedicated part on this truck called a "turn signal relay". Sorry you went through so much. Sometimes there will be three flaser relays. Anyway don't be afraid to get your own string started on something like this. Not to be negative but more stuff will come up I have a 95.
