Thumbs up brake lights hand holding

After looking through the forum and archives I think I have figured out the problem. But I could use a little hand-holding to complete the problem solving. Here Goes

1996 Blazer LS ( 7 pin trailer hookup)
No brake lights ( top or bottom) No hazard lights. All new bulbs, new brake switch installed. The stop fuse is good. The Hazard / stop fuse keeps blowing.
When I install a new fuse in the Hazard /Stop spot the brake lights flicker and then the fuse blows. Same for the Hazards, new fuse, 1 pulse and blown fuse.
BTW, turn signals, tail lights etc all work fine.
This leads me to believe that the famous multifunction switch is bad. ( replaced once in 2006). or that the trailer wiring has gone south.

Opinions welcome

Thanks in advance
Bruce

i would say trailer wiring. i had 2 plugs in mine for some reason and one of them would short out when you hooked it up.

After you pull down the trailer wiring and have a look there, pop out the hazard switch. The hazard switch is VERY common.
