Default brake problem

So I was having a problem with my brakes not stopping, I bled them changed pads and nothing worked. So I just decided to replace the power brake booster and the master cylinder in one shot. I have installed it all and it seems to have fixed the problem, my question is what could have caused the back brakes to not bleed correctly now, yet they bled just fine before Ichanged these parts. When I bleed the brakes to try and get the air out of the system in the rear the fluid just dribbles out but before it shot out like a jet... I dont understand why its not bleeding. I capped all the lines when I replaced the booster and m\cylinder so I dont see how it could be clogged by debree. Is there anything else that might be the cause that you guys can think of?

Default RE: brake problem

Did you bleed the master cylinder and is it possible air got into the abs unit. When I had my rear brake lines changed they got air in the abs unit and took most of the day getting it out, luckly they didnt charge me for that since it was there fault.

I agree it could be air in the ABS system or you may have a sticking proportioning valve. I had problems with a sticky proportioning valve when doing brakes on my brothers car. I kept flushing new brake fluid through the system but couldn't get all the air out. Once I got his proportioning valve working again everything cleared up(He wouldn't spring for a new proportioning valve)It took me 8 hours to do that brake job & now I won't work on his beaters.

how do I check the abs and bleed the master cylinder? I thought I just had to bleed from the calipers and drums?

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder prior to installing it? If you did not completely bleed the master cylinder prior to hooking up the brake lines, you have very little chance of properly bleeding the rest of the system. You can bleed the master cylinder with it installed, but it involves removing the brake lines and installing bleeder tubes which run up into the reservoir.
