Question brake question

After replacing my front brake pads and rotors I bled the lines. My brake pedal still feels really mushy. The brakes work well Its just you have to put the pedal nearly to the floor to stop. I don't have very much experience with brakes so I would appreciate any help/ suggestions .

It is possible that your master cylinder has gone bad, but sure sounds like there is still air in the system.

I would start from the top with a good master cylinder bleeding. You will need to disconnect the brake lines at the master cylinder and get some straight brake lines that will thread in and seal to the master cylinder. Bend these new lines around so that they can be submerged into the brake fluid reservoir. Once there are no air bubbles and no appreciable blow back of fluid from the ports in the bottom of the reservoir, you are done and can reconnect the original brake lines.

From there, move out to the wheels (passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front).

thanks for the reply. So I went back and bled all four brake lines. The pedal got firm for a moment then mushy again. So to bleed the master cylinder I'll need 4 straight brake lines ? Can i just get straight blake line tubing from an auto parts store ?

You can get plugs and use only two brake lines or get four of them. And yes, you get them from your autoparts store. All you need to do is make sure that they will thread into the master cylinder.
