My daughter has a 2000 4wd with 90,000 miles on it. Last week it had minor/ lite hesitation and bucking at 20 mph, cruising at 55 mph and when pulling away from a dead stop. So it's at all speeds. It idles fine, no shaking then the check engine lite comes on the next day while at a light. For the record it had plugs, wires, cap, rotor (all AC Delco) put in 3,000 miles ago. Had a new exhaust, cat and pipe put in 500 miles ago. truck has 50 miles on it since these issues have started. My neighbor is a GM service tech so he scanned the codes and he found 17,000 misses in 4 cylinders, and cat code.


right now it's going to Meineke who did the exhaust work. any other suggestions? I've got a feeling he's going to say it needs a tuneup.

 

How old is the fuel filter?

 

ah forgot to add that. the ff was done last year. maybe 6,000 miles? yes it's an AC delco. thanks.

 

just got the truck back. he changed the cat / resonator that's in the Y pipe. of course everything was changed but that a few weeks ago. he didn't charge labor just the part. it's like a new truck. thanks for the help guys.
