A/C Clutch Problem

You have to depressurize the system to replace the high side switch.

Dang! I knew you would say that. Why did I blow the relay though by jumping the connector? I was about to go back out and make sure I do not have a frayed wire to ground in that circuit. Any thoughts?

Okay, i spent some time with my multi-meter and this wiring. Here is what I found:

Ohm check:

Low Pressure Switch - closed
High pressure switch - open
Blue wire from high side to relay - good
white wire from low side to relay - good
black wire from relay to clutch - good
green wire coming into high side plug - do not know where it comes from. it is melted and burned in the plug. there is a green wire to each plug, so I am assuming it is a common wire between them.

So, is the high side switch bad or is there too much pressure in the system? I can tell that I need to replace the plug since it is broken and burned/melted.

I also checked the relay, and the circuit from 30 to 87a (N/C) is good, and 85 to 86 (N/C) is good. 30 to 87 (N/O) is open like it should be. So, is there any other fuse in this circuit that may have caused the clutch to work once when I jumped the high side connector and then not again? Or, is the plug so messed up that it just will not work right (my guess right now)?

I already listed the fuses that play a role in this system...
