Default A/C Recharge issue

Hey guys,

Everyone starts off their dumb questions by saying how new they are, so I might as well too. "I'm completely new to anything and everything automotive." Hope that took care of that. Anyway, I'm not really that new, and I can do most simple maintenance stuff myself. I had a friend give me some R-134a and my baby needs a recharge. I hope that's all it is anyway. Let's start with the simple stuff first. I tried to hook up the recharge kit to the Low side AC hose, and it wouldnt connect. It was like the little valve on the Blazer was too big for the connector. So, first, I need to make sure I was trying to use the right valve. Does anyone have a schematic or can anyone redirect me to a schematic for the AC area? Or does anyone have any advice for me?
