Default Cable line from actuator to axle problem - vice grip test not working

96 blazer and the 4x4's not working. I just tried to vice grip test with the cable line and my 4x4's still not working. The cable line is extended out about 3/4th's to an inch of its original position (as far as it extends) and attached some vice grips and im still only getting power to the back wheels. Any idea what my problem is here and what I'll need to do to fix it?

Is your front driveline turning? If not check the transfer case. If it is then take a hard look at the differential.

The transfer case should be fine... i put the car in 4x4 mode and the drive shaft locks.... i put it in 2h and it moves easy. Any ideas?

I had the same issue, but once I fixed the vac lines the front engaged. Not sure how much the vac plays getting the front engaged besides having the actuator engage it...

really... ?? thats a little encouraging. So you attached vice grips and it didnt work for you either? How did you end up fixing your vacuum system... what was your problem? I narrowed it down to either the hoses or the tcase switch. Im praying its the switch.

Well I got to the t-case switch and it was frozen, so I went ahead to replace it only to find the 3 plug vac manifold that connects to the t-case switch was pluged. Sooo after cleaning out the connections I got them back in, tested my vac to the actuator (good strong stable vac) and hooked everything up and it worked!

I tried the vic grip test, and it was a no go.

You are my hero if this works. Just picked up a new switch and I'll be installing it on Saturday. I really hope this works. I'll post an update when I have one.
