caliper bolt
1998 s10 blazer 4x4 getting ready to put on front pads,anyone know what size the caliper bolts are?Is it torx or allen?Thnx....i tried searching to no avail

I'm pretty sure theyre 15mm. If youre doing rotors, you need an 18mm to get the caliper cage brace thing off and remove the rotor.
If theyre not 15s, theyre at least metric. I did my brakes with just a metric set of wrenches

15MM sounds right to me, there are some according to maintance manuals that take a giant allen bit. You can look at them without taking the wheel off to see if you need that allen bit. I think its used on the single piston front calipers.

I just turned the wheel all the way one way and crawled under there,..it does look like a regular 15mm.Thanx....i don't know why i didn't think of that[sm=headbang.gif]

I'd like to know what genius decided that 18mm wrenches should be left out of MANY metric wrench sets. I went to change the cage for the first time, only to discover that I lacked an 18mm! I looked at new metric sets, and found that alot skip the 16mm and the 18mm!

Rotors arnt too bad if youre out of snow country... that is, if you find that 18mm wrench

Definetely 15mm. I did mine yesterday.

Okay this means it is different between which caliper we have since my dual pistons are 18mm on all bolts, I checked while retorqueing my shock bolts.
