From what I understand you will have to swap all of your 98 intake and exhaust to the 02 motor. You might also have to tap threads for your knock sensor but I'm not sure. I'm swapping an 02 motor into my 96 in the next few weeks- I'll let you know how it goes...

You should be good to go. Swap LOWER intake manifold, drill/tap knock sensor, and swap sensors from old motor to new motor

You will have to swap exhaust manifolds, as well. Other than that, should be golden

What will it hurt by leaving the 02 intake manifold on the motor I mean your SES light will always be on but what else could it hurt? Im just terrably curiuos I mean the exhaust just will not mount up right thats why you have to change them right but why the intake manifold.

your exhaust has the egr tube that runs from driver side manifold to lower intake... without the matching lower intake you'll have a heck of a hole in your exhaust manifold...
