Can I use E85 on my 1997 4.3 S10 Blazer
#1
Hallo to you technical freaks. In Germany we have a big run on this kind of fuel and now my question is if there are some experience about using E85.
We have some manufactures they sell a special black box where you hug up between your injection nozzle and your main control unit. Then you have an sensor what will be installed in line of your fuel pipe and one sensor on the lambda sensor to control the temperature and the other one are for checking the fuel mix.
So now i can drive my Blazer with this box only with E85.
Did you know that kind of systems also in US and how you will realize a solution when you will plan to use E85 or a mix or only regular gas around in USA.
Can you give me your experience or some details about such a kind of systems they would be sold in US.
thanks for your answers.

In the U.S. E85 is supposed to only be used in engines that are designed for it and designated as 'flex fuel' engines. Almost any modern auto engine can run on 10% ethanol which is quite common, but delivers less economy. I don't know of any devices to add to a U.S. engine to let it use E85 unless it was designed by the manufacturer to burn it.
