Default Can you bypass the Heater Core

I had a leak in my radiator. i replaced it.
Then myy engine temp gauge was still going bazerk. so i replace the thermosthat ... didnt help.
My windows have gotten steamy and my car smells like antifreeze.(the heater core.
I dont have the money or time to get a heater core in.

Is it possible to just by pass the heater core?

Where or what sensor does the temp gauge use and could that be wrong?

Yes you can just bypass the HC, however whatever fluid is left in the bypassed core will continue to leak into your cab untill its empty.

If you have Air in the system it could cause teh Temp Sensor to not read correctly.

Bypassing the heater core..yeah, just loop the hoses into each other.
