So I finally got around to picking up that multimeter and started messing around with it today. I unhooked the battery and set it on amps and it was reading about 13 amps with the car totally off. Something is obviously draining the battery.

So I started pulling fuses and it turns out Fuse A was the issue. As soon as I pulled that fuse... it dropped down from 13+ to .015.

Looking at my book... fuse A is the "Power door locks, power seat, power seat lumbar, remote keyless entry" fuse.

I have noticed lately that my power door locks have been extremely weak. I usually have to press the button about 4 or 5 times until it fully locks the doors. Now that I think about it... this has been going on for about as long as the battery has been draining. These two issues have to be related, right?

So... any clue where to go from here. I can probably live without power door locks, but i really prefer to have them. Any clue how I can go about fixing this?

 

Need to isolate further, I am commenting on general electroic troubleshooting terms and processed, I do not know the specifics of how to do this with Blazer.

Either one of the door lock mechanisms is shorted out, etc. or something is loading down the voltage causing them to work sluggish, might be an indicator not the problem.

I would put the amp meter in and unplug the harness under the front seat to the seat controls, this removes the seats, if that drops the current, then plug back in and work the seat functions one at a time, which ever function does not add current is the one stuck on all the time and separate that wire by it's self.

As for the door units, each one needs to be separated by it's self, one door at a time, I do not know the best place to do this.

 

Ok... I'll start with the power seats.

Now the harness under the seat... is there a specific plug I need to pull? I'm assuming it's under the drivers side seat, right?
