Smile Changing my fuel pump in the a.m.,,,

On my 2000 Blazer,, it was running a bit poorly and my fuel pressure was off by 10 psi,, at 54 psi,, so I am putting in a Delphi unit from NAPA,, I should of took some pics before I started,, and living in salt city central Ohio,, it was fun,, had a hard time getting to the fuel lines to disconnect them,, the middle one was a bear,, but got it off. I have a trailer hitch that was rusty,, go figure,, so I took it off to blast and repaint. One of my issues is that if I drive for a bit, stop come back out restart the Blazer it ran like crap,, no power then a minute or two later,, it took off and ran OK not great but better,, so once I put in the new pump & filter I will post up and let you know how it runs,, Thanks to all so far have helped me with this truck!! Update;; Swapped the pump out and it runs so much better,, started it stopped, let it set for a bit started and drove off and no performance issues, but,, I may have a faulty gauge,, put on my gauge and it shows again 54 psi,, and now the pressure bleeds off right away now,, a few months ago it held steady after shut down,, and there is a flutter in the gauge while it is running,, so I am wondering if the pressure regulator is now need of replacement?? I replaced the fuel filter as well,, I am going to use a snap on gauge to double check the pressure and flutter if any,, but the pump needed swapped out and it runs so much better,, any suggestion?? Thanks matty man

if the pressure drops right off then it sounds like the regulator is leaking or the check valve in the tank is bad.

I would assume the regulator is going,, I will stop by the hot rod shop and use my friends gauge to verify the pressures,, it runs a boat load better,, but,, today while cold i pressed the acceleration and while cold it had a small backfire through intake and just a few hundred yards down the road you could feel it gain power and then it runs fine,,, its getting closer to running like a GM V-6,, so how hard is it to change the regulator? would it be a good idea to change the spider injection and regulator together? I will do a search and look around.. Who has a line on a good and affordable scanner that I can read O2 and MAF ect and ABS codes as well,, Thanks for the great help so far,, Matty man
