Check engine light
Yup had my blazer about three weeks now and already got a check engine light had it checked and it says secondary air flow malfunction (something like that). The guy at auto zone says to check the air pump. Not sure what they are talking about. Could some of you guys/gals enlighten me.
thanks
thanks
The air pump is part of the Emissions system that pumps air into the exhaust to help promote the continued burning of fuel in the Catalytic converter. I would check the fusses and relays to make sure it isn't a simple fix if it has stopped working. I can't help much past that as I deleted and removedall the EGR equipment from my Z years ago and am only going on 2 weeks with the blazer so I am still in learning mod on where everything is on the 4.3.
I will say that other then maybe shortening the life of your cats a tad it does not harm the vehicle and you don't have a risk of being strandad or anything by waiting to fix it. You will however fail an emissions test if you have to get one.
