A 2003 S10 4X4 pickup with 50K miles???? I'm drooling and want it (unless it's a 4-door)!! Been looking for one.
I would say that a lot of these early Vortec 4.3's have had the intake gaskets replaced. That can be bad or that can be good - depending on when a coolant leak was discovered. Too late of repairs and coolant into oil generally means bearing damage. I had that on my 65K mile 2001 Blazer, but that does not mean that yours is the same. Just keep it in mind.
If you don't want to fix the miss in yours yourself, you need to get it to someone who is able to do more than check codes, guess, and replace sensors. This will not be cheap.
If you do want to fix it yourself, you will have to obtain certain equipment and be able to do specific tests in order to be effective.
Let us know if the second is the case and we will help. You will check for vacuum leaks, and verify operation/condition of fuel and ignition systems before chasing any codes/replacing sensors (unless something becomes obvious).
Best wishes,
Les

I have put on a new Gas filter and MAFS and it ran fine for a day or two...then here comes the "Service engine soon" light...My Mech said it was running rich and the code he pull was one for the solenoid either by the gas tank or on it or on top of the motor...My was on the gas tank...he tried to put a after market one on and it would not fit...(They one around 40 bucks were the dealer is 80 bucks but the OEM one) then all of a sudden it started running lean and #1 started to miss...My poor mech is pulling his hair out....hahahahahaha...I say replace the solenoid on the gas tank and see what happens and maybe change the plugs...I have new ones in a box along with a new cap and rotor in the Pass seat...

Its a 3 door step side, 4x4, 49K on it now, Color red and inside perfect a great 10 footer...get closer and you can see the typical pick up marks...wouldn't be a pick up if it didn't have them....My mech still has it waiting on word from him...looks like the intake manifold has been taken off at least once...gaskets? Spider injection? Fuel Reg? but with it running rich then lean something isn't right that's for sure...he is checking into all of that and retest the fuel pump from what I read here my pressure is not close to 60-66 psi when running more like 50 close to 60 if you give it gas...leak down appears to be good...goes down to 45 then starts going back up...check all vac line and all appear to be new and no leaks...Will just have to wait and see what the mech finds...he suspects when they took the intake off they might have mess some thing up...waiting on the word will let you know what is found..
Thanks

Well my mech replace the solenoid and he said the service engine light went out and it appear to run fine...BUT, he still was trying to find out what cause the miss and it running lean...He couldn't find it so I went down and pick it up and before I got out of his drive way it started missing again..so I drove it home anyhow and called him and told him and he said WHAT! Your kidding...wish I was....He said bring it back next week and he will see if he can track it down...might be a wire leading to one of the injectors.
I went out this morning started it and it ran fine...let it run for about 15 min and it started to miss again...Its either a bad injector wire or a bad injector or spider assy...Will find out more next week I hope....should of kept my 2000 LT 4x4 Blazer...starting to kick myself in the rear...
