You need a Diagnostic Code Reader. Go to your local Advance Auto Parts store and they can read it and clear it for you. It's free and should take no time at all

They can clear the codes at the parts store. You could also just let it go out on its own if you fixed the problem. It'll do so after a few drive cycles have been completed.

I have tried that once but disconnecting and unplugging the battery didn't work. I guess it depends on the car, is it?

Disconnecting the battery negative for 30 seconds should work. if it doesn't then you still have a problem. As also said, if the problem was fixed the light should go out on it's own. If not, then you probably still have a problem.

You could pull both ecm fuses and count to 10 and toggle the ignition 5 times that usually does it (workd on mine)

Yea, don't you have to put it in ignition, and press the brake pedal 5 times, then start the car?

Just disconnect the battery overnight. When you come out in the morning your light will be off. If the problem exist, it will come back on when the problem occurs.

I have a bad air pump. The SES light will stay off after erased, however once the engine cools, it has to use the air pump again which will cause the light to come on.

In the codes explained, it says it will turn off after the problem is fixed, and 8 drive cycles.

Look up your code to see how many cycles before your SES lamp turns out.
