Check Engine Light S.O.S.
I have a '99 blazer and the check engine light came on. i fixed the problem it was just the MAF sensor so i cleaned that off but i have no idea how to make the light turn off. please help.
Disconnecting the battery negative for 30 seconds should work. if it doesn't then you still have a problem. As also said, if the problem was fixed the light should go out on it's own. If not, then you probably still have a problem.
Yea, don't you have to put it in ignition, and press the brake pedal 5 times, then start the car?
Just disconnect the battery overnight. When you come out in the morning your light will be off. If the problem exist, it will come back on when the problem occurs.
I have a bad air pump. The SES light will stay off after erased, however once the engine cools, it has to use the air pump again which will cause the light to come on.
In the codes explained, it says it will turn off after the problem is fixed, and 8 drive cycles.
Look up your code to see how many cycles before your SES lamp turns out.
