Chugging while accelerating

Chugging while accelerating
Hello, I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer and it is having an issue with chugging while accelerating and sometimes while maintaining speeds. Not sure what the problem could be. I can't afford to take it in for a tune up if that isn't going to solve this issue. If anyone could give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Does it only do this after its warmed up? Or always? Is there a check engine light on? When was the last tune up done? And by chugging do you mean the RPM's jump up and down or does it just not have power? Answer these questions for us and we should be able to help diagnose your problem

Hi, sorry for not being clear in my first post. Thank you for explaining what I should tell you and trying to help me. It does it randomly sometimes the truck runs for days and it's okay then starts to do it really badly. It does it after it's warmed up yes but a few times it has done it relatively close to when I start driving, but I try to always warm my vehicle up even in the summer. The check engine soon light is on yes, it's been on for like a year and a half but I took it to Auto Zone and they said that it was because of a small gas issue. I bought a new gas cap and that didn't solve the issue. But regardless the issue has happened when the light isn't on. By chugging I mean that it struggles to accelerate. It feels like it wants to die almost sometimes, if from a dead stop I accelerate faster it chugs through it and continues accelerating at a pretty good pace without chugging....but also sometimes at high speeds when you let off the gas you can feel the truck pull. I've tried a few bottles of fuel injector fluid and that hasn't helped. Anything else you would like to know I can try to describe more thanks!

Oh sorry I've had the vehicle for 2 years, haven't gotten a tune up and I don't know when the last one was done. I need to get a tune up but not sure if that will fix my problem. I need to fix this first before I get the tune up if that's not the issue.

Could be any number of things causing the problem. Have AZ retrieve the codes again and post them here in the order they are retrieved. While you're there, ask them if they rent fuel pressure testers, grab one if they do, and we'll explain how to use it.

Get a can of Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner at AutoZone. Pull the air intake tube, remove the MAF sensor and spray all the little wires down. Let it dry overnight and replace the intake tube. Solved my chugging problem right away. Make sure the engine is warm before you clean the MAF sensor and dry before you drive it again.
