Question Cigarette lighter blows a fuse

I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer 4WD 4.3L SFI 6cyl and while trying to get a emissions test I was told that the cigarette lighter fuse was blown and after replacing it...you guessed it had blown again! And I can't get an emissions test without it. So I know it's probably a wiring problem but what I'd like to know is how do you begin to trace it ? For now it's trial and error till I find it but any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the same problem in my 97 Jimmy, but we don't have emissions testing here so I just don't use it. I have seen threads about this on here before, I'm sure they would be helpful.

Make sure something metal did not fall into the cigarette lighter/accessory socket and cause a short. It is a great place for a coin to fall into.

Thumbs up thanks papa and terry

It's a good place to start...hopefully that's all it is a coin or something.
