Clearing service engine soon light after intake install
ANyone know how to do it? I installed a cold air intake a few months ago, and been driving with the service engine soon light that came on after installing it. Tried disconnecting the battery over night and the light would still come back.
It may not have anything to do with your new intake setup or you may have done something wrong with the install. Diagnosis starts with the code so don't just clear it expecting it to go away.
A properly installed intake will not cause a code.

Did you play with the MAF sensor at all? Touching the wires inside can cause issues, but you won't know whats wrong until you read the code. Did you put all of the sensors back in their proper spot? Did you reconnect all harnesses back up?
I drove to oriellys to get a new front turn signal bulb since it burned out, and than drove to autozone to ask them to check for codes since the light was still on. Parked it and looked inside and saw alot of people in there. So then i said to hell with it and figured it should clear up. Started back up and drove home, it cleared a few blocks away.
Leaving the fresh air make-up tube off the back of the throttle body 'hat' would definitely set a code. Whether that is the only code that is stored in the PCM, well you'll need to get the codes read to determine that. If that was the reason for the code, it should go away on its own.
