How do I know which pin is upstream?

A word of caution. If the problem is under the U/H fuse block then disturbing it may lead to more problems if there is corrosion so I would not pull that up unless we verify the location through testing and then you have decided if you really want it fixed as original, can live without fan speed 4 or are willing to do a fused wiring jumper to leave that fuse block alone.

Pull the fuse and test both sockets for power. If you have power then while the fuse is out test the other pin to pin 87 of the relay for resistance/continuity.

Test from the fuse pin that did not have power to pin 87 on the relay with the meter on 200 ohms and see what you get

I cant tell if your in the hot side or the downstream fuse pin so I am verifying the pin that had no power and I would like to have you change the meter to 200 ohms instead of the diode/continuity setting as shown.
