Default Cluster problems

Hello:
I am a new member to this forum, and I have gone through all 120 plus pages, but I did not find any thing like my problem.
I have a 1996 Chevy Blazer that I spent two days replacing a heater core,(lot of blood, sweat, tears removing the dash. after replacing every thing back I have a problem with the instrument cluster, the temperature gauge , and speedometer has stopped working, all of the other gauge work fine( Tac, fuel, oil pressure, and battery voltage, this is an analog cluster, and all of the warning lights work also. Also when I plug in my code scanner it will not power up?
Any information how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you double checked all the fuses? The OBD port is powered by the cigarette lighter fuse.

Yes, that was the first thing that I checked, (all the fuses checked ok), I was hopping to find a blown fuse for a quick fix?
