Default Instrument Cluster Problems

I have a 98 Blazer and have been having Instrument Cluster problems for about 6 months now. First my digital PRNDL and Odometer display started blinking. Then my odometer stopped working, but the trip odometer still worked. Then the cluster would go crazy sometimes, Tach would jump and some of the lights would blink on and off. I bought a used cluster on Ebay, installed it and it was fine for a week. Gradually it started having the same symptoms. Now three weeks later it is the same as before. Any ideas? I have not replaced the ignition switch because I ckecked the voltage at the CLSTR fuse when the display was out and it was fine. The voltage at the CRUISE fuse was also OK.

Thanks

I still have not solved this problem, I have looked over the whole vehicle looking for a shorted wire of some sort. What is wierd is that I am not having any other prolems, the blazer runs fine.

Anyone seen a similar problem before?

Thanks

I found that the wire that comes off of the ground sie of the battery to the body was broke. I fixed it and now the problem is worse, the cluster goes crazy all the time now.

The only thing I can think of to make sure all the wires are connecting to the cluster properly and that the plug is not loose. Other than that, good luck.
