Posted this already, in wrong thread. Try again.
Hello, purchased my 1996 Blazer 2 months ago and have been having the cold start issue for a month. Every time I replace something it seems like it is fixed for a couple of days, could just be the weather.
Replaced fuel filter, coil (was shot), plug wires (also shot, was light show under hood), cap and rotor, new battery, andlower intake manifold to stop leaks.
Purchased fuel pressure gauge and when turning key on pressure is almost 60, holds at about 56 or 57 when turning key off. This solved problems until temp went below 32, after sitting for 8 hours wont start, turns over but acts like not getting gas or spark. If you get it started after a couple of attempts it is good for the day.
Yesterday was very cold, ran in morning but after cold rain and snow and it will not start after an hour of trying. I could hear the fuel pump run and a click in the dash when it shut off.
Someone mentioned Temp sensor, sound like a fix??? Any help is appreciated.
Also replaced heater core and blown radiator this month but that is a different thread :-) has been a busy month...
Thanks

Sounds very similar to my problem. I've replaced most of the things you have ... the only difference is mine never takes more than 5 minutes to get started. This morning, 2 degress below 0 and it took about 7 tries to get it to fire.
Regarding the ECT sensor. I still haven't found where it might be located on the car assuming its' separate from the coolant temp sending unit. I've heard mixed reviews that it could solve my problem...while logically it makes sense that it would, apparently with obdII cars having a sensor reading off from normal usually throws a code, which i dont' have.
Good luck man... if you figure it out post up, and i'll do the same.

Yes, usually only takes 5 minutes to start. Last night was first time it would not. Just checked and still will not start. No codes not SES light.
Going to swap out the ECT today and see how it does.
update, I noticed today that i do not hear the fuel pump every time when starting (hard to hear with the bell that goes off like crazy when key is on but not starting), but I do hear it sometimes and it still doesn't start.

Let me know how that goes and where you find the sensor(although apparently it's different 97 and older).
If you dont' hear the fuel pump prime, do another fuel pressure test.

Update,
even though it's a new battery and my voltage gauge shows over 14 while running the truck started using a jump. I've never had a vehicle that would turn over but not start due to low charge on the battery.
Did not hear the fuel pump run until I left the jumper cables on for a couple of minutes.
I put the battery charger on and it goes up over 6 amps and charges down to 1 quickly. After full charge it starts right up.
Alternator? I'll test tomorrow.
