Have you done this job before?
How much time does it take to remove the intake manifold to get to the gasket(s)?
While I have the top-end open, is there any else in there I SHOULD service?
I assume I can get the kit from a Chevy dealer and my father is a retired ASE certified mechanic with a stocked Snap-On garage, so doing the work is not an issue. What is an issue, is this is my daily driver and downtime needs to be at a minimum. Any tricks/tips?

The intake manifold gaskets are not really that difficult to replace, but can be quite involving. If you run a search, you'll find a nice article from D-tips.com that has some very good pictures of the process.
