01 blazer 118K..noticed heat stopped working at the temp started rising...popped hood and out comes the steam...
found the leak coming from the intake mani DIRECTLY below the fitting that the heater hose uses to plug into the intake..comes from the crack that seperates the intake mani from the head
obviously im not gunna drive it
my question is is it just the gasket that went bad or possibly something worse?

pics would help.
did you inspect the hose on the bottom where you cant see it?
no heat in the cab means no flow to the core...so maybe you blew the line coming from the core and lost pressure and coolant....just the simple guess fix.
other wise at the location along the lower intake and valve cover could be gasket leak.
