No matter how many times you say it, there's always those who'll reply "Well I replaced that sensor with a Wells/Airtex and it worked fine!"
- perhaps I had a preview because that brand ign module {TFI} and TPS always lacked reliability on Fords
Somehow I think judicious use of a DVM on the ECT connector would have found it quick. There's charts for that.
But the bottom line is the OP got it fixed and explained what and how
