Crank position sensor??

Default Crank position sensor??
I'm considering buying a 97 Jimmy. It cranks & idles but it goes dead when you put it in gear. The guy said he put a new fuel pump & filter on it & that there's no trash or air in the lines. Could it be the crank position sensor?

hi Cindy welcome aboard. If the cps hasnt been touched i doubt its that. New pumps can be bad right out of the box. I would find fuel pressure tester and start there. Good luck
