Crankshaft position sensor relearn question

Got a ? If the sensor was bad or unlearned, if that's a word, would a code and check engine light be set? Thanks.

If the sensor is faulty, it will set a DTC. If you initiate the crankshaft position sensor relearn, and the procedure does not complete, it will set a DTC.
