hey guys, just seeing what other people think....

so I have a pretty nasty oil leak from the back of my engine. My thoughts are that its coming from the backside of the intake manifold gasket. I replaced the gasket last year, and had an oil leak shortly after. Im thinking its due to poor installation. Its impossible to see the leak without pulling parts just seeing what everyone else thinks. Im just hoping its not the rear main.

 

If you remove the distributor you can inspect the rear RTV seal. When the intake is installed, if you slide it to line up the bolt holes, it will push the RTV out of position and it will leak.

check your pcv system too, make sure its not clogged up and its got pleanty of vacuum pulling through it. i ended up having to do mine twice due to this, blew the rear silicone bead out like a hour after i installed it. way easier the second time around though

 

thanks abig84! i just took a look, and i can see a small oil leakage coming from the pcv system indicating its clogged up (im assuming). Thanks for the info!
