Default cruise control problem?

1st time it happened to me ever

I got off the High way today I had the cruise set at 65 (speed trap area)
and kept it on till I got off the ramp
now I only taped the brakes to shut it down never did I move the switch to the off

Ok here is the funky part when I got to a red light I would sit there and all the sudden it would try to excelerate not hard but start to pick up wile my foot was on the break it did it 4 times

on the 4th time I switched the cruise to off and it stopped as soon as I shut it down and didnt do it again

So latter I went went back up on the highway again and set the cruise got off and it did it again till i hit the switch WTH

Ok now I know the break over ride switch is working because it shuts down when I hit it but why dose it excelerate when i am at a dead stop with the switch on it shouldnt do that and stop when I switch it off
now my wife uses the blazer alot to take the kids to and from school so i may just dissconect the cruise
any Ideas would be would be great I love my cruise

Well Thanks everyone for looking
I wanted to let you all know what I found incase anyone has this problem )

I replaced the cruise/wiper switch on the column and it seems to have fixed my problem (I had one in the shed)

I took the switch apart to see what was going on in it
I found this sticky gummy crap inside it over all the contacts I cleaned it up and used the electrical grease put it back together

it seems to work fine but I wont know till I re-install it and see if it fixes it

I don't know why this would have bye-passed the brake over ride safety it may have just been shorting it out all i know is its fine now
