CV joint
This car is ridiculous. Yesterday my kid takes the truck on a road trip to Vermont. Today I see a spot of oil on the driveway. Looking closer I find the CV joint is partially disengaged from the front differential. The thing has been installed for several months then somehow pops off the clip. WTF. I hammered it back in and tugged on it - seems clipped in.

Check oil level in the front diff right away. If it's low, you can lose the diff in no time.

could it be that he fat fingered the 4wd botton

How would that make the CV joint come out of the differential? Anyway the 4WD isnt working. And this morning I looked under the truck and its out about a 1/4in again. This weekend I will be pulling the shaft to see whats wrong with that clip. Either that or the spring inside the joint is broken. Im hoping I can get NAPA to replace it since its likely defective. Its been in there for 6-8mo with no problems. Honestly I have never experienced such crap.

Replaced the inner shaft differential seal and CV today. Didnt find anything wrong but NAPA did warranty. I upgraded from a remanufactured to a new joint. I hope I can move on to the next problem - blower motor. Oh I forgot the turn signal. Its a well documented piece of crap.
