Default Dash Light HELP!

I installed a pioneer head unit a while ago (which was stolen and now the factory one is in)

Since then my dash lights do not work (no illumination at night)
my window wipers act up often (do not turn off sometimes, wrong speeds, etc)
my display for my factory head unit works maybe 50% of the time

I remember seeing smoke come out of my vent above my fuses one day which I thought was a fuse burn out, but after I read this I think differently:

"I seemed to have fried my dash's dimmer controls. How am I certain? Well, I certainly had some smoke. The dash lights do still seem to work, however my dimmer **** no longer brightens the dash. It's stuck at the lowest light setting."

Also, when using a test light on my fuses they all work except illumination and parking LP.

I would like to try and fix this mainly because I bought a Viper alarm system form Best Buy and got a free install with it. They said they would NOT touch my car until I get the electrical problem fixed. (Liability issue)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. I thought this might be the problem so when I put the new one in I will update.

Ok, I finally bought a new dimmer switch from Autozone ($60) and my dash lights work fine.

However, my windshield wipers still act up.
-Sometimes they won't turn on at all.
-Sometimes I will put them on slow and they go faster than they should.

Any idea what is wrong??

MFS(multifunction switch) that seems to always be the problem. And with the weird wiper clue!!! Yeah i would say a mutifunction switch.

Sorry, I am not familiar with a multifunction switch. (Neither is Autozone.com apparently)

I see one on ebay for $140..

Where is it located?
Also, could that negatively effect the Viper alarm I am trying to get installed?

The multifunction switch is also known as the turn signal switch.
