RE: defroster
your vent diaphragms might be bad, of the vacuum switch for vent control might be bad.
hope that helps

RE: defroster
Or the vacuum supply to the HVAC system could be either disconnected or filled with transmission fluid from a faulty transfer case vacuum switch.

RE: defroster
ok scratch everything i just said i got a whole new ball game of issues its coming out of every vent. It comes out of the floor the regular ones and its comes very barley out of the deforster ones. With the defroster does air come out outside of the windshield as well as inside? I more thing it all worked until i disconnected it last night because im doing a blue led mod but i didnt modify it or take it apart. Do you think i broke it by maybe trying to take the stubborn wires out. Should i jut buy a new one?.

ok ok were good now it turns out that the night before when i plugged the plug with all the colored tubes i pulled to hard and unplugged it from where it plugs in in back of the glove compartment. I plugged it back into there and it works a+ perfect. thanks every 1 anyway for all the answers back.

RE: defroster
So quick question.
Info: 97 4x4
So where exactly does the HVAC get its source vac? Does the supply line run from the black ball under the hood across the fire wall and through to behind the glove box or from the transfer case?
Thanks for the help? I am trying to get my heat controls working again.
As far as I know the actuators are all working, I tested each from a manual vaccum source.

RE: defroster
It's all the same system. You just need to hook everything up and make sure that there are no leaks.

RE: defroster
I found a pretty monster vac leak in the hose from the back of the intake. now I have great vac pressure to the back of the heater control. But I now can't hold vac pressure when applied manually to the heater defrost actuator or the center duct actuator. I can hold vac at the other far left actuator behind the glove box.
Bad actuators? Can both go bad at the same time?
