Default Disarm ABS

This may sound insane, but how do I safely disarm the ABS system if a problem comes up (like the motor getting stuck on with the ignition off like what happened to someone I know) or if I am driving off-road or in snow when it gets annoying? Pull the big ABS fuse under the hood? Will that take out other vital functions like the 4WD or engine computer controls?

Pulling the ABS fuse will disable the ABS system and should not affect anything else.

Actually... Now that I think about it, this may take out the cruise as well... You could try unplugging the EBCM (electronic brake control module) and sealing up the connections somehow. That would defeat the system.

I pulled the fuse for mine. You will have to get use to the abs light being on all the time.

That would explain why it doesn't work. lol I just noticed it the other day. I though that was on a separate circuit but i guess not.

...........or just drive around with a broken front left hub sensor.

i unplugged the main plug on the ABS unit on my '92. it disabled the ABS, plus i didn't have the light in the dash light up. i wonder if it would work on my '98...........don't think it would be the same as pulling the fuse. hmmm, maybe i'll try that in the morning.
