Talking Distributor Price Help

I just posted this thread to help some out there...I was looking for a distributor for my 2002 blazer. An accel performance one has :

Features & Benefits:
6061 T6 billet aluminum housing. Centerless ground steel shaft. 10000 RPM bearing upper without il lite bushing lower. High dielectric strength cap. Balanced rotor. Brass cap and rotor contacts.

The prices were around $280-$340. on line and at part store...I found it on amazon for only $212.03 plus shipping. Shipping was reasonable I ordered other things so don't know exact price for just a distributor, but was only $16 for my order and will be here in two days.

Just thought I would share this for anyone else looking for a better distributor than the "Cheap" plastic stock one, thought this is a good deal and shouldn't wear out like a refurb. or plastic replacement. Hope this helps somebody!

That "cheap plastic" stock one can easily go 200k miles and is over half the cost of that accel distributor. Just sayin'.

well put kyle.
why would anyone spend boo Koo bucks on something like that if the one in the engine is repairable for a few bucks and can last longer than the vehicle
its sitting in. 200K quick repair and another 200K.the blazer has fallen apart but the dist is still good. no brainer

There is no problem with the suggestion. If you were building a race motor, it wouldn't be a question (although I would us a MSD Pro-Billet distributor), but stock replacement.. There are better things to spend your money on.
