nope. nope. I will install new dizzy this weekend but didnt have noise before intake job. Not missing any tools.LOL. As I said miss aligned dizzy first couple of trys but was close enough to fire and loud backfire. That is when noise began and has only gotten worse. Not exhaust leak though, sounds internal. Thanks and please stay tuned.

Exhaust backfire is more evidence of an exhaust leak. Could have blown on manifold gasket

Not that either. Instead of getting into valve train / Timing chain I am looking at a 99 motor that sounds great with a 114k miles on it. My problem motor has 240k, and since I can pick the other up for $400 seems like a good decision even though it is a 4x4 and will need to change Oil pan and Oil filter adapter correct?

Been searching for an informative thread on using a 4WD 99 motor in a 2WD 99 blazer. Oil pan but how about Pick up tube/pump?

CKP Relearn but how about using PCM from donor 4WD?

Oil Filter Adapter and Felpro Gaskets?

Any advice appreciated. Or just point me toward another Thread, Thanks for all who have been helping and are ready to turn the page on this old 240k Knocker/Tapper.
