I have been looking for almost 3 hours for a DIY for the NSS. I went to unplugg mine and it ripped into 3 pieces in my hand and I need to know how to adjust and install the new one. If anyone has a how to please help me out. Thanks

I am looking for pictures of where it goes, all bolts holding it and plugs going to it. Anyone help me out? Thanks

Look on this page. scroll down, there are pictures. It takes 2 bolts to hold it on it just slides over the shift lever shaft on the transmission. Keep in mind once you plug the electrical connector in to it, IT WILL NEVER COME OUT AGAIN! no joke, you will break it trying to remove the plug. hope it helps.

EDIT: It goes on the drivers side of the tranny where the shift linkage connects.

No need to post the same subject in two threads.... I have merged them together.

This is not called the neutral safety switch, but rather the Transmission Position Switch or Transmission Position Sensor. A search for "transmission position" turns up only a select few threads, one of which is linked to below.

I do not have a digital display and I am replacing it because it was destroyed when removing motor. According to autozone and advance (not that they can be trusted) its a neutral safety switch.

I don't care either way I just wanted to know how to change it out since I destroyed the one in it.

Ideas on how to get my plug out of the old one? Heat it up?

Haha, the way i understand it is you pretty much havta break the plastic off around it. essentially "whittling" down to the plug. someone else might have a better idea. when i did it we just swaped the trannys and left the "gizmo" attached to the wires. then bolted it back up to the new trans.
