Dome light turning on
Hi all I am new to this post and I am looking for some help. I have a 97 S10 Blazer and my dome light keeps turning on. When I park my blazer and close the door the light will go out and when I look out the window sometimes its on and I push on the door and the light will go out. I got inside and the light will go out and when I hit the door the dome light will flash on and off real fast. I am at a lost I was going to try to change the switch on the dash but when I push it in the buzzer goes off and the parts store told me it was glued in. Is this true? Also if the doors are locked and you pull the handle the dome light will come on. I hope I have gave enough info for some help.

RE: Dome light turning on
The dome light should come on if you lift the handle and it's locked..that's at least normal..Are you sure your rear hatch isn't partialy ajar? Mine was doing that on the way home..I turn my dome lights off after my truck got broken into a few months ago..I don't want any one lifting up the handle and seeing what's inside...It could also be a bad connection between your door and the push button thing (like the thing that makes your refrigerator light go off) Sorry can't think of what it's called...

I think Paddle_grl is on the right track. You probably have a faulty door jamb switch on the drivers' door.
It's easy and cheap to replace, it just unscrews ( can't remember if it's a 10mm or 11mm), then there's one wire attatched to it.

RE: Dome light turning on
If it is the driver's front door (assuming 4dr), then the switch should be on the side of the dash, but could be in the latch inside the door... If it is in the latch inside the door, you may want to try lubricating the latch mechanism first.
