easy fix for broken hood cable
the hood latch cable recently broke on my 01 blazer. I tried using pliers but didn't have any success, using a screw driver and trying to figure out how to get the hood open, it finally released. I saw that the spring at the end of the cable was broken but didn't have any way to repair it so I went about doing what I had planned and closed the hood figuring I could just pop it with a screw driver again. Next time I go to pop the hood, it takes about 15min to get it open again so I figured I had to do something to fix this. Turns out to be an easy fix. There is a clip at the end of the cable tube, by the hood latch, that holds the cable tube in place. I simply slid the tube out of the clip and moved the tube to the right so the end of it was against the clip that once held it. This took up just enough slack to allow the hood release to work normally, no pliers or anything. maybe this has been discussed before, but I didn't see anything about it. Hope it helps!
