EGR install on '95

Default EGR install on '95

I have recently done much work under the hood, and suspect that I may have installed my EGR backwards (180 deg. out of position). Can someone with a '95 S10 Blazer (4.3l) look under the air intake, and see how their EGR is positioned? With the wiring harness to the right, or to the left? I've had a rough idle when after teh engine warms up, and am wondering if the EGR was indeed re-installed backwards after I cleaned it up. As you are looking at it the wire harrness should be on the rightside. I think there is only one way it can be installed if I remember correctly.

Okay - Mine is on the right - however, they can be installed 180 degrees - wrongly. The bolt holes and the EGR ports line up - so unless I'd paid attention to how it was taken off (which I obviously didn't) - then it can be installed upside down, and would cause problems (reference my mention of rough idle, then the article .pdf that I found substantiating it)... Was just needing to make sure that it either was or was not right-side-up.

Unfortunately, if it *IS* installed correctly - I need to look elsewhere for my idle problems. BTW Here's what I'd done over the last couple of weeks:

Fuel Pressure regulator - Replaced
CPI Spider/Injectors - No visual leaks, poppets clean and no visual leaking
Fuel Filter - Replaced
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) - Replaced
Intake Air Control (IAC) - Replaced
Ignition Control Module (ICM) - Replaced
Dist Cap/Rotor - Replaced
EGR - Removed & Cleaned
Fuel Pump/Sock Filter - Replaced (and fixed my original problem)

I thought I did the same thing on my 95 this past Saturday. I was so happy to find a huge carbon chunk holding the valve open, that I ran into the house to show everyone. I cleaned it out, and it runs like new. Also replaced the drive belt, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Too easy!

That stupid EGR! I have had an intermittant rough idle over the last few years. At its worst the engine light would flash at every stoplight. But right now it seems to be pretty happy though. Well as far as the engine. The HVAC is another story!
This truck is like a real wife, I love the truck but can be high maintenence.

For some reason it can eat throuh O2 sensors too. I guess they are the lobster of the car world.
