Default emergency brake handle

got the bottom of the dash( under the wheel) mostly off. the emergency brake handle won't allow me to remove the final step.

i must say there isn't to much room to get in there and make a hole thru the firewall to hookup some toggle switches.

any input ???????????????????????????????

There should be a wire, like whats on the throttle body, that you can disconect and it will come right off.

Default handle

i see the linkage on the inside of the plastic dash. but i don't know how to separate it from the handle' i don't want to pull hard on the handle and break it. i thought there might be a screw that holds it in place but there is not one.

I just went and looked at mine. Removing the wire is very simple. Take one finger and pull the metal lever towards you. Use the other hand and push up(towards the roof of the truck) on the wire. It should pop right out.

If you can't figure out what I'm talking about, look under the dash while you pull the brake release. Se the mechanism that's moving? That's the lever you need to manually move.

Default brake handle

thank you, i just can't get it off. i lifted pull twisted and that.

i am only slightly mechanically inclined.

i have the dash hanging down with the brake lever holding on.

i will bring it down to my body guy tomorrow and it will take him 2 seconds to get it off.

thanks again..................................
