Default Emergency Brake Stuck

Emergency brake on 2005 Chevy Blazer LS is stuck down. The lever to release the e-brake is loose and feels as though nothing is connected to it. I have taken the lower panel beneath the steering wheel off, but I do not know what step I should take next. I am not sure if the brake is frozen (I live in temperatures down to -30C) or if the cable has broken off from the release lever.

Any help much appreciated.

Default RE: Emergency Brake Stuck

you have to start by looking at the ebrakepedal area. There IS a cable usually connected to it-probably isn't at this point. On a 2005 I doubt it to be anything else.. If it is this-I would wonder why but...if you get it on worry about it if and when. I briefly looked for your address(statewise) but couldn't find state or zip code. Reason being-you could have a frozen cable but again..I doubt this. PS I see it gets cold where you are but still doubt that to be the reason. Jerry
