Emisions rejected

On my 96 blazer I had the emissions tested,
The sheet said it was rejected because:
On-Board Computer:
Unable to test the vehicle-following
readiness monitors were not set:
Catalyst
Evaporative system
EGR system
Any Ideas on this one??
I did a search but found nothing.

Was the engine fully warmed to operating temperature and driven a few miles prior to the testing?

Just a thought, but if those "codes" were deleted from the PCM during a tune, would the DMV's scanner pick up on it?
Something I've always wondered about.

Well i am changing the thermostat. When the engine is warm the gauge reads 2 lines above the 100 mark.

I have a 1998 blazer with the exact same problem. First off, you screwed up when you disconnected the battery. By disconnecting your battery you 'shut down' the computer. You now have to run the car for a few HUNDRED miles for the computer to reset itself. NEVER DISCONNECT THE BATTERY!!!! There's nothing really wrong with the car. The computer has to reset itself. This is the second time for me. I now have over two hundred miles on the car but will NOT get it re-inspected until I add another two hundred. Also, do highway AND city driving. The computer WILL eventually reset it but it will do so when it's ready. I have a company car so don't drive the blazer that often. By the time vacation rolls around and I get in the car, the battery's dead. The mechanic that checked it could not understand why the car does this but it does. Also, make sure you have the correct amount of oil in the crankcase. Keep driving for at least 400 miles. Take it back to the inspection station. It SHOULD pass. Let me know how you come out. Any other suggestions are welcome but this is what has worked for ME. Good luck.

I may be wrong, but IIRC I don't think it has to do with the amount of miles you put on the vehicle, it has to do with the number of start up/shut down cycles the engine goes through. Each cycle requires that the engine be cold and brought up to full operating temperature.

Well I changed the thermostat and now the temp is near the 210 mark. .
I will test it again Thursday when there open.
Can the engine not getting hot enough cause poor gas mileage ??
