Default Engine shutting off

On two separate occupations in the last couple of days my engine has shut off when I'm at a stop at Red light/Stop sign. It shuts off and then the battery light comes on, but my lights and radio are still on. Then I'm able to start it right up again and go on my way. Then when I park and turn the key back to shut it off, my key gets stuck in the ignition and I have to keep turning my key back until it eventually comes out. Not sure if that's related but any help is greatly appreciated on what this could be. 2004 Chevy Blazer 4x4. Thanks

How long has it been since you have had a tune up on the vehicle? Plugs, air filter, fuel filter? You also might clean your MAF sensor. How many miles are on the vehicle?

I just changed my air filter 2 months ago. It's been a while since I changed the plugs/fuel filter. There is about 118,000 on the vehicle.

I would start with the simple things like that and go from there. I bought my blazer with right at about the same miles and the MAF was so dirty I'm surprised it ran. Try cleaning yours with some MAF cleaner and see if that helps. Either way it can't hurt, just be careful when cleaning it not to touch the probes or break them off.
