Default Erratic idle and poor fuel economy

So I tuned up the unit last weekend,no running issues,it was just due. Plugs, cap, rotor, wires. Ran much better(still does) the first tank showed a 4mpg increase! Then I have started having an extreme(2000 rpm)start issue and a very low(500 rpm) warm idle, also occaisionally it wants to run at 1500 rpm while no throttle applied while driving at low speeds. So the next tank mpg has me back at square one! IAC & MAF cleaning in order? It has been 60k since last done. Will inspect for vacuum leaks, but a tune up is usually non-invasive on these,so I find it hard to believe I caused this problem, especially since it performs so well otherwise! Any input? Thanks!

Cleaning out the IAC, MAF and Throttle body sounds like the next thing you should do.

my rough idle was caused by a dirty egr valve. i took it off and sprayed the hell out of it with carb cleaner. after reinstalling the rough idle went away instantly, if youre going to do the iac maf and throttle body, i recommend hitting the egr valve
