EVAP system
Mechanical, please.
Right now, I'm just trying to gather information on the emission system. Earlier today I was driving through the ODB II monitoring cycle to see if I could clear some incomplete monitors before I took the truck in for it's inspections. I still have EVAP, catalytic converter and HO2 error. No codes, at least not now just incomplete monitors.

Try using this General Motors Driving Cycle procedure. You don't need to do each step, only the steps necessary to complete the monitors that have not run and completed their tests. The EVAP monitor is the toughest one to complete: You must follow the instructions EXACTLY as indicated for the monitor to run and complete its test. If it doesn't run and complete the test, you missed something
It says you can do the entire drive cycle in under 15 minutes, but that takes some serious practice
After all of the monitors have run and completed their tests, the SES light should remain off, meaning no faults were detected. If the SES light comes on, post the DTC.
FYI: The fuel level must be between 15% and 85% for the EVAP monitor to run and complete, which means the fuel level sender must be working properly. For example: if the level sender has an open circuit, the fuel gauge will indicate a full tank of fuel and the monitor will not run. The monitor will report "Incomplete" until the level sender is repaired, and the monitor runs and completes.
EDIT: You'll need to do step 1 for the oxygen sensors, and steps 2 through 8 for the EVAP.

Completed the O2 heater drive cycle this morning (which was the easiest
). Now, I guess I need to get some gas before I can perform the other two, or at least the EVAP cycle.
Glad there's a stretch of highway near me I can use to complete these monitor tests. I don't know what I'd do if I lived in the city.
