Also I have already checked the timing chain to see if it's skipped a tooth or stretched before. I've replaced the spider in this truck as well. I'm just wondering if it's the cheap China icm I'm using now that's setting it off ? I really don't want to but another one to fund out it isn't that. What your thoughts on that ? I have another cheap China one I can try quickly just to see but it might just be the same thing again.

Did you short the probes and zero the meter before that resistance test?

You only do that on an analog meter. But yes I always touch the probes together to make sure everything in working order 😊 It's funny because the truck runs so much better now. I'm not sure what's setting this p0351 code off yet but it's gotta be something small.

Depends on the digital meter, here is my Extech:

That 0.4R reading is not as low as I expected. Most vehicle signal wires are 18 or 20 gauge. 20 gauge is about .01 ohms/foot and it’s a straight shot on that white wire, maybe 5 feet. The pcm does not like the voltage on that wire which can be the icm, pcm, or the wire/connectors.

Make sure that you have clean spark plugs gapped correctly and all the boots are on tight. Yes arcing can be bad wires but it can also be because the normal spark path is degraded. I forgot if we discussed a compression test?

Glad its running better.

I have been thinking about your ignition leakage problem. We have already covered many of the potential causes:
  1. Bad ignition wires
  2. Bad timing
  3. crank sensor issues
  4. Wiring
  5. ICM
  6. Coil
  7. Plug condition (poor gap)
  8. Compression
One thing that we have not talked about is the ground return path which is through the block to the battery. Make sure that your block grounds are clean and tight. Any increase in the spark path resistance can force the spark to find an esier path to ground

Thanks George I took your advise and I cleaned two grounds today. Ground to frame and ground to engine ... negative cable. I know theres one under the battery tray but that shouldnt be an issue. I have to try to take a look at the back of the block but I already know it next to impossible to see.

I've been doing some research on the p0351 code and I came across a video the guy says that the last number corresponds to the cylinder but I think he was working on motor that has individual coil packs. Does it work the same for a distributor ? Do the p0351 mean cylinder 1 p0352 mean cylinder 2 and so on ?

No, on our single coil, single ignition control wire system this is the only code for a voltage fault on that wire.

Ya that's what I thought . I want to throw another ground on the icm wire to negative battery.Do you think I'll create a ground loop or should I just cut the wire and if it doesn't help soilder it back up and heat shrink it ? What gauge is that wire 22 ?
